Kelly Covers For Mob Boss Trump Again

Continued from home page

Kelly is doing more than just posting on social media when it comes to trying to mess up our election.

In June, he joined Trump’s reelection campaign to file a lawsuit in federal court against Pennsylvania state and county election officials seeking to have mail ballot drop boxes banned in the state.

The boxes were used in the June 3 primary because county election officers were struggling to keep up with voter demand for mail-in ballots in light of the coronavirus pandemic. Because Pennsylvania law requires mail ballots to be received by county election officials by 8 p.m. on Election Day, the idea behind the drop boxes was to allow voters to hand-deliver their ballots and know they had been received on time.

That makes perfect sense, but you have to remember the goal of Trump and Kelly isn’t to have a free and fair election. They don’t want to make it easier for people to vote.

Remember, Kelly voted against the We the People Act last year. That bill included things such as national automatic voter registration, early voting, same-day and on-line voter registration, and making Election Day a national holiday. (There’s a separate story on that vote on this website.)

Another thing the lawsuit is seeking is to allow voters to serve as poll watchers in counties other than where they live.

Here’s why that’s important: The Republicans want to intimidate voters and disrupt the process. The areas they would most like to hit are in cities, which are more heavily Democratic and have more minority voters. It might be difficult to put enough hardline Trump supporters in a place such as Philadelphia if the only place they could be stationed is the precinct where they live.

If Trump and Kelly get their way, the GOP can bring in all the thugs they want and put them anywhere they want, with the bonus that they’re there today and gone tomorrow, as opposed to being people who live in that community.

In 2016, Trump won Pennsylvania by 44,000 votes, or less than 1 percent of the votes cast. Apparently, the president, Kelly, Putin and the Republicans will do anything they can to make that happen again in 2020.
